- Title
Working Around the Family: Is There a Gender Divide?
- Authors
Brennan, Linda L.
- Abstract
The article focuses on working families and the gender divide. Particular attention is paid to households were both parents work, the need for flexibility during family responsibilities, as well as which parent is expected to make the sacrifice to adjust work efforts when needed. A study conducted by researchers at the University of Cincinnati examining how family obligations are distributed by working parents is presented. The author analyzes the results of the study, as well as the impact of children on both the father and the mother in the home.
