An essay is presented on lithophones in Tirunelveli, Southern India. It offers a brief historical overview of the origin of lithophones and examines the contribution of lithophones to the richness of the region's culture. Moreover, it also explores several temples in the country that have contained lithophones and describes the characteristics and dimensions of these instruments.
