The article focuses on the proposal to reject the name Aglaomorpha (Polypodiaceae) and conserve Drynaria. As shown by molecular studies, Christiopteris and Aglaomorpha form a monophyletic clade but Drynaria is paraphyletic. As parapyletic units are rejected, all drynarioid ferns should be recognised as a single genus looking similar to other members which have humus-collecting leaves.
