- Abstract
This article discusses a case report of a 77-year-old woman who underwent a [18F]FAPI-74 PET/CT scan for colon cancer. The early-phase scans showed abnormal uptake in the right external jugular vein, which disappeared in the later scan. A contrast-enhanced CT scan confirmed the presence of a thrombus in the vein. The abnormal uptake was attributed to the retention of [18F]FAPI-74 in the vein due to the thrombus and arm elevation. The article highlights the importance of being aware of false-positive results due to blood pool retention in [18F]FAPI-74 PET scans.
