- Abstract
Magnetic nano-Fe3O4 was prepared and used as the core construction material. A composite magnetic nano-adsorbent (PEI@ SiO2 @ Fe3O4) was prepared by silanization and surface crosslinking modification of polyethyleneimine (PEI). The effects of initial concentration of Cu2+, pH value, adsorption time, and temperature on the adsorption of PEI@ SiO2@ Fe3O4 on Cu2+ were investigated. The adsorption kinetics and adsorption isotherm model were established, and the regeneration performance of PEI@ SiO2 @ Fe3O4 was evaluated. The results indicated that PEI@ SiO2@ Fe3O4 has the optimum adsorption efficiency for Cu2+ under the conditions of 25 °C, pH = 6. 0 and 20 min, and the maximum adsorption capacity was 71.94 mg/g. The adsorption process could be well expressed by pseudo-secondrder model and Langmuir adsorption isotherm model. The PEI @ SiO2 @ Fe3 O4 could be regenerated by 0. 05 mol/L Na2DTA solution and has good reusability. The PEI@ SiO2@ Fe3O4 can be used as an alternative adsorbent for removal of Cu2 + from wastewater.
