- Title
Solar system: Recipe for making Saturn's rings.
- Authors
Crida, Aurélien; Charnoz, Sébastien
- Abstract
The article presents an analysis on the formation of the planar concentric icy rings surrounding the planet Saturn. According to the author, the origin of Saturn's rings could be explained by the merge of boulders in circular orbits creating larger bodies, which is also the same process that forms satellites around planets. It explains that the celestial bodies orbiting around the planet, when disintegrated by tidal forces, could result to the formation of rings from its fragments.
