- Abstract
This study aimed to reveal the leadership role of secondary school principals and its relationship to teachers› emotional intelligence. To achieve this aim, a sample of (210) male and female teachers were selected, in an accessible manner, from secondary schools. Two tools were built for the study, namely, the survey of the leadership role of the director of the school and the measure of emotional intelligence developed by Goleman (Goleman, 2002). After verifying their validity and reliability, they were applied to the sample members. The results showed that the leadership role of the school principal was high, and there were no statistically significant differences in the leadership role of the school principal due to the variable of gender or educational qualification, while statistically significant differences appeared in The leadership of the school principal according to the variable of experience and in favor of the higher experience. The results also showed that the level of emotional intelligence of teachers was high. Finally, the results showed a statistically significant correlation between all dimensions of the leadership role of the principal and the dimensions of emotional intelligence. The study came out with a set of recommendations based on the results of the study.
