- Abstract
We reviewed many studies on the expression of MLH1 and p53 genes in stools specimen of colorectal carcinoma patients. This disease is one of the most prevalent cancer; the second highest incidence in women and third in men. Annually reaches one million cases with half of the cases are ended in death. The risk factor of this disease is genetic mutation. Through faecal specimens, analysis can be done for the detection and diagnosis of colorectal carcinoma. By analyzing the mutation and expression of genes involved in this disease pathway, including MLH1 and P53. In almost all cases of colorectal carcinoma, MLH1 found in inactive state occurs due to mutations. It is also accompanied by decreased of p53 activity as the tumor suppressor.
