- Abstract
In order to meet the welding requirements of offshore structures with high load capacity, the microstructure and mechanical properties of CO2 GMAW + SAW joint of high strength marine engineering steel DH36-Z35 with 60mm thickness were investigated. The results showed that no softening occurred in the joints with CHW50C6SM welding wire used for CO2GMAW, and CHW-S3 welding wire and CHF101 flux used for SAW. The mechanical properties of the joints met the requirements of relevant standards. Post-weld heat treatment at 350 °C and below for 1h could refine the microstructure of HAZ, but had little influence on the microstructure of weld, and reduced the strength and low temperature impact toughness of the joint to a certain extent. The bottom layer of CO2GMAW without preheating was a weak layer for the mechanical properties of the joints.
