- Title
How will others view your restructuring?
- Authors
Aspbury, Herbert F.
- Abstract
The article focuses on corporate restructuring and turnarounds. It states that takeover threats can force corporations to restructure their fundamental business practices, and presents as an example Goodyear Tire in the wake of James Goldsmith's attempt to buy out the company. It mentions that stock prices are the best defense against takeover threats and states that focusing on a company's stock prices does not necessarily orient business practices to only short-term results. It comments on the need for long term business strategies and states that these strategies will also help keep stock prices high enough to ward off takeover bids. It mentions the need for cost savings and avoiding unnecessary expenditures.
