- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the effect of leptin in the development of mammary gland of mice induced by estrogen (E) and progesterone (P). The study has injected corn oil to female C54BL/6j mice. Stereoscopic analysis reveals the increase in the number of side branches in the mammary glands of EP-administered mice. Study shows that mice given with leptin as demonstrated hyperleptinemia that results to the decrease in mammary gland weight, food intake, and plasma glucose.
