- Abstract
The aim of this research is to evaluate the plants used in the Fruit Food Festival traditionally held in Halfeti since 2016 in terms of ethnobotany. In Halfeti, which is included in the Cittaslow International "slow city" network, a fruit food festival is held every year under the leadership of the slowfood organization. In the festival, which was held for the fifth time this year, it was observed that many fruit dishes such as Plum Pan, Loquat Kebab, Pomegranate Sour Onion Kebab, Quince Casserole and Mixed Dried Fruit Rice were served. However, in previous years, it was determined that tastes made from 25 different fruit dishes such as plum with egg, stuffed melon, stuffed plum, sauteed plum, fish sauced with mulberry and mulberry pilaf were exhibited. It has been determined that the plants used in the meals and presented at the Fruit Food Festival belong to 20 families and 41 plant species. In this festival, which is an important event in terms of gastronomic tourism, it is also aimed to introduce the food culture of the local people made from plants and to transfer them to future generations. The ethnobotanical characteristics of the plants used in the dishes were made in 12 settlements and information was obtained from 45 sources. In this article, scientific and local names of the plants used in the production of the local dishes presented in the "Fruit Food Festival" traditionally held in Halfeti, in which dishes they are used, and the visuals of the dishes made from these plants are given.
