- Abstract
The article presents the characteristic of Prague as a metropolis. The capital of the Czech Republic is an international city and plays an important role in Central Europe. A lot of foreign companies decided to run their business in Prague because it offers many favorable conditions such as high level of well-educated and highly qualified workers, an innovative environment, a developed infrastructure (transport, telecommunication). Prague is more competitive and attractive to investors than other Czech regions and as a result constantly increases disparities between itself and them (for example salary is about 25% higher than the national average and unemployment is more than twice lower than the national average).
