- Abstract
In this issue of "Nachrichten aus der Chemie" (News from Chemistry), various topics are covered. One article deals with the use of 3D printing in analytics, particularly for the production of microfluidic systems. Another article compares the performance of N2 plasmas and Ar plasmas and finds that N2 plasmas could be a more cost-effective alternative. A research group has investigated the anisotropy of p- and n-conduction in Zintl phases and found that electrons and holes move in two perpendicular directions. Other articles discuss the production of artificial ion channels for the separation of lithium and the improvement of the synthesis of a radiolabeled antigen for tumor studies. Finally, the crystal structure of oxometallates and the isolation of the cyanoketenyl anion [NC3O]- are reported. A multi-catalytic one-pot sequence enables the production of unsaturated polyesters from nitrile rubber. The article summarizes various scientific studies and research findings. It reports on the use of polyolefin blends and azidotriazines for the production of polyolefins. Furthermore, the investigation of tire ingredients in water and their potential environmental impacts is described. Additionally, new methods for the production of peptide synthetases and bioactive steroids are presented. Finally, a cross-coupling method for the production of diarylamines and the functionalization of tryptophan in proteins is reported. The articles are written by various authors who conduct research in their respective fields.
