MICROFILÁRIA EM SEDIMENTO URINÁRIO DE CÃO POSITIVO PARA ANTÍGENO DE DIROFILARIA IMMITIS.

- Abstract
A imagem tem como objetivo, retratar a presença de microfilárias em sedimento urinário de um canino de 2 anos, da raça Pitbull, com hematúria, cuja principal suspeita era urolitíase. No caso descrito, foi realizado o teste de Elisa SNAP 4Dx® que resultou em positivo para o antígeno do nematóide Dirofilaria immitis, que acomete principalmente o sistema cardiopulmonar, apresentando manifestações clínicas associadas ao mesmo. A dirofilariose é considerada uma zoonose emergente, um problema importante de saúde pública, cujo agente causal é transmitido por diversos tipos de mosquitos, em especial os dos gêneros Aedes, Anopheles e Culex, que são hospedeiros intermediários obrigatórios. A doença é mais comum em áreas com clima de caráter tropical e litorâneo. Um fator importante na patogênese da dirofilariose é a presença da bactéria Wolbachia pipientis, uma bactéria intracelular obrigatória, fundamental para o seu desenvolvimento e crescimento. Essa bactéria tem uma proteína em sua superfície, a WSP, que vai causar uma estimulação de IgG, podendo favorecer processos inflamatórios pulmonares e renais. A forma renal, é menos comum e é caracterizada por proteinúria intensa e presença de microfilárias, um achado raro. Nessa fase da doença, o tratamento pode ser mais difícil e diminui a perspectiva de regressão do quadro do animal. Sendo assim, ressaltase a importância da solicitação de exame de urinálise para pacientes com suspeita de dirofilariose.
