INFECÇÃO SIMULTÂNEA POR TRYPANOSOMA SPP. E FILARÍDEO EM MICO-LEÃO-DE- CARADOURADA (LEONTOPITHECUS CHRYSOMELAS).

- Abstract
Fotomicrografia de esfregaço sanguíneo de um primata da espécie mico-leão-de-cara-dourada (Leontopithecus chrysomelas) sob cuidados humanos em um Centro de Primatologia, no qual identifica-se um parasitismo simultâneo por filarídeo, representado pela microfilária (seta vermelha), e tripanossomatídeo (seta verde) na forma tripomastigota. O animal não apresentava sinais clínicos de doença, foi resgatado e o hemograma foi realizado como exame pré-operatório para esterilização (vasectomia). Não foram observadas outras alterações no exame. Pertencentes à superfamília Filarioidea, os nematódeos filarídeos são parasitas de grande importância médica e veterinária, correspondendo a um dos principais agentes etiológicos de primatas não-humanos, liberando microfilárias na circulação sanguínea em seu ciclo biológico, fundamental para o diagnóstico laboratorial, uma vez que, em sua maioria, se desenvolvem sem causar quaisquer sinais clínicos. Parasitas da família Trypanosomatidae, protozoários uniflagelados constantemente associados a enfermidades graves, como a Doença de Chagas em humanos, também já foram descritos em primatas não-humanos. Ambos agentes são transmitidos por insetos vetores, como os mosquitos do gênero Culex, no caso dos filarídeos, e os triatomíneos, como o "bicho-barbeiro", principal transmissor dos tripanossomatídeos. Com a constante degradação ambiental causada pelo homem e consequente aproximação com a fauna silvestre, vetores começaram a adentrar habitações humanas e, consequentemente, aumentaram-se os riscos de transmissão destas zoonoses. Nesse sentido, levando em consideração o potencial zoonótico destes agentes etiológicos e que, na maioria das vezes, ocorrem de forma silenciosa e sem sintomatologia nos animais silvestres, é fundamental o aprofundamento de estudos e pesquisas sobre métodos diagnósticos, sobretudo, os considerados fáceis, rápidos e seguros, como o hemograma, visando o diagnóstico e controle dessas doenças de forma precoce. Ainda, reitera-se a necessidade de maiores investigações sobre a identificação das espécies destes agentes circulantes nos primatas não-humanos, a fim de direcionar de forma específica as medidas de controle e tratamento.
