- Abstract
Considering the great importance of micro-enterprises (MEs) in the Brazilian economy, the fact that many of them are created and managed by a team of directors and that the organizational learning process is central to understand their administration, this study sought to explain the role of this process in strategic decision making of team of directors in MEs. To do so, we carried out a qualitative, exploratory and replicative case study based on interviews with co-directors (members of a team of directors) of MEs from São Paulo state. Data analysis identified that the process, in the way it happens, does not play a relevant role in decision-making in the MEs. It was restricted to the exchange of technical information related to highly centralized, repetitive, and operational activities. Therefore, to improve decision-making, it would be helpful diminishing centralization and improving conditions for organizational learning.
