- Abstract
The article cites a study on the use of two Malvaceae host plants including Malva nicaeensis (MN) and Tarasa operculata by skipper pyrgus bocchoris trisignatus in northern Chile. Topics discussed include the collection of Hesperiidae larvae on leaves of MN in October 2008, the use of MN as host plants by species of native butterflies in California, and the elimination of native vegetation by intensive agricultural practices in Azapa valley, Chile and its impact on MN vegetation.
