- Title
Anonymous Servanthood.
- Authors
Newman, Judith H.
- Abstract
This article reports on anonymous servanthood. It further consider the story in genesis of the quest to find a suitable wife for Abraham and Sarah's child of blessing, Issac. One might expect to see the young patriarch go in search of his own wife, but in stead the trusted servant of Abraham goes on a long journey in search of her. What strikes the author as remarkable in the narration of this story is that it does not provide the name of Abraham's servant, his `ebed, sometimes rendered "slave" in Hebrew.
