- Abstract
A conference paper about advertising practitioners is presented, exploring how such agencies may or may not reflect the dominant ideologies, conflicts and philosophies that exist in advertising agencies. It explores whether divisions and tensions exist in such advertising agencies between the historically noted philosophical differences of art and science. Advertising trends in the 20th century that swung to science at one point, then favored an art approach at another time are described.
