- Abstract
The article discusses a research study on the habitat preference, distribution and abundance of blind snake species or Serpentes: Typhlopidae in Ant Atoll, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). Recorded were specimens of 28 undescribed species of blind snake that were collected, preserved and observed, all found inside rotting coconut logs in Pasa Island, Renipiua and Shikaro Islands in June 2009. Results showed 28 recorded number of snakes from Ant Atoll suggesting that the undescribed species of Ramphotyphlops is confined to Pasa Island but its distribution in the area could be due to potential predator presence and suitable habitat.
