- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 62-year-old obese Caucasian man with a history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and was presented with dyspnea. His physical examination revealed he was hypertensive with severe pitting edema in his lower extremities and has ventricular tachycardia and laboratory results show he has severe alkalosis. Furthermore, he was treated with potassium chloride, acetazolamide, and hydrochloric acid.
