- Abstract
The article presents information on the nursing of patients with autism spectrum disorder undergoing surgery for cancer. Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) or pervasive developmental disorders (PDD) are terms for a continuum of neurodevelopmental disorders. They are characterized by social, that is, thinking, feeling, and relating to others, communication, that is, verbal and non-verbal, and behavior, that is, rigid, repetitive, and stereotyped, impairments.
