- Abstract
The article discusses the history of the literature quarterly "The Hudson Review" and the criticism published within the quarterly. The author talks about the influence of "The Hudson Review" on modern American literature. The journal's founders are discussed, including William Arrowsmith, Joseph Bennett, and Frederick Morgan. The archives of the journal are explored. The archive's Author Files, which provides profiles of authors, are detailed. The article also discusses New Critical formalism, an approach to criticism which emerged around the time of the journal's first publication in 1948.
