- Title
Invited Perspective: Uneven Progress Addressing Population Variability in Human Health Risk Assessment.
- Authors
Chiu, Weihsueh A.
- Abstract
The article discusses a perceived lack of progress in the implementation of methods to incorporate population variability in human health risk assessment by regulatory agencies despite the considerable progress in the development of such methods. It describes the limitations of applying a 10-fold safety factor in determining susceptibility to environmental toxicants. It explores a study integrating high-throughput in vitro transcriptomics in a population-based in vitro model from human donors.
