Why Did ONS Retire the Steering Council?
- Authors
Snively, Anne
- Abstract
The article reports that the Steering Council of Oncology Nurses Society (ONS) in the U.S. was disbanded by the Board of Directors, replacing it with ad hoc volunteer task forces and think tanks. ONS president Brenda Nevidjon says the changes made will allow ONS to be more responsive to the needs of its members and better engage them by giving deeper experience to volunteer. Moreover, the ad hoc will also help in developing members' leadership skills in preparation for the expanded roles.
