The article focuses on the issues related to the Alien Tort Statute (ATS) resolved by the U.S. Supreme Court in reference to the cases Sosa v. Alverez-Machain and Kiobel v. Royal Dutch Petroleum Co. Topics discussed include the analysis of statutes of limitations and tolling rules, the importance of enforcing ATS due to violation of law of nations, and the judicial opinion on the case Erie Railroad Co. v. Tompkins.
