The article examines the work of the British artist and painter William Hogarth. Particular focus is given to his decorative monochrome painting of a scene from the poem "Hudibras," by Samuel Butler. Additional topics discussed include Hogarth's work in printmaking, the attribution of the "Hudibras" painting and insights on the artistic techniques used to create Hogarth's works.
