- Abstract
The article reports on the impact of pesticides in the soil and water quality. Topics include the various risks of pesticides including its potential harmful effect to groundwater which may cause water-borne diseases such as cancer, kidney disorders, and birth defects, and discusses the factors that causes extensive pesticide contamination in Sudan. Also presented are various technologies that can be used to treat pesticide-contaminated are such as the use of anaerobic bioremediation.
