- Abstract
The article focuses on the ancient canals and stone quarries of the Hoysala period located in the Halebidu region in Karnataka, India. It states that these archaeological sites are the symbols of cultural heritage and social life of the people of the Hoysala period, representing their ingenuity, craftsmanship and engineering skills. Several photographs of a stone temple, a chlorite schist rock specimen from the Hoysala stone quarry and Yagachi canal located in Halebidu are also presented.
