- Abstract
The article focuses on a research on the development of a device for injecting membrane-protein microcrystals conducted by researchers Vadim Cherezov and others of the Scripps Research Institute. Topics discussed include benefits of the device with the improvement in the efficiency of serial femtosecond crystallography (SFX), disadvantages of use of crystallizing G protein–coupled receptors (GPCRs) in lipidic cubic phase (LCP) medium and minimization of radiation damage with cryogenic cooling.
