- Abstract
The article discusses the application of the "As Low as Reasonably Practicable" (ALARP) principle and its importance in the risk reduction strategy in Great Britain. It states that the principle is an amended version of As Low as Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) and is based on a pragmatic and holistic approach. It cites the items that need to be addressed. It adds that the principle is a useful tool to control risks to the public and to the workers in the nuclear industry.
