- Abstract
The article reports on the effort of the Botanical Garden of Ghent University, Belgium to assess the threatened ex situ plant diversity and compare with its wild counterparts. Topics discussed include a project initiated to compare diversity between wild and ex situ populations including Hydrangea, Magnolia and Cactaceae, a chart comparing different molecular techniques for testing of species and the presence of only 30 percent threatened plant species in botanical gardens.
