- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which discusses the aspects of the BioEnterics intragastric balloon treatment, an endoscopic method, for obesity by examining the changes in serum insulin, blood glucose and insulin resistance. Topics discussed include impact of hormonal imbalance on metabolic disorders such as glucose intolerance and dyslipidemia, use of chemiluminescent immunoassay to measure serum insulin, and role of adipose tissue mass in secretion of metabolic hormones and cytokines.
