- Abstract
The article discusses copyright law violations and issues that undermine the enforcement of the law. The term "warez" is explained as referring to copyright materials that are illegally shared via the Internet. Laws such as the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) are discussed and explained. Usenet, a file-sharing technology originally intended as a discussion board arranged into newsgroups, is addressed. Other technology, such as peer-to-peer file sharing (P2P), is also discussed, along with its legal ramifications.
