The different phases of the relationship between research and practice, the assessment exercise, the good effects of research on teaching, and change towards research informed teaching, are also presented. The positive impact of the teaching quality enhancement program started in the year 2001, the establishment of the Learning and Teaching Research Network (LTRN) and details of four conferences with 41 papers presented and 34 papers published, is also discussed.
