- Abstract
The article discusses a Houston, Texas-based professional learning community (PLC) comprised of science teachers, whose goal is to improve science teaching methods. The PLC fosters professional development through a mentoring program for teachers. Success has been obtained through the promotion of collaborative learning and the environmental education program Project Learning Tree (PLT). PLT is an interactive interdisciplinary program for primary and secondary students.
