- Title
SEER Issue to Return in 2011.
- Abstract
The article reports on the possible return of the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) to centerstage on June 2011. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is suppose to set new minimum energy efficiency requirements for central air conditioners and heat pumps by this time also. According to Steve Yurek, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute's (ARI) general counsel, the organization will be pushing for the SEER to be left at 13. He also said that higher efficiency standards are not justifiable in northern climates.
