- Abstract
The article presents a case study of 64-year-male presented for decompressive laminectomy L4-5 caused by spinal stenosis. Topics include history of hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, and multiple-vessel coronary artery disease, anesthesia induction and endotracheal intubation with propofol, remifentanil, and rocuronium, and using prone positioning for posterior spinal surgery. It mentions the deterioration of respiratory mechanics during anesthesia for spinal surgery in the prone position.
