Child Recruitment Surges.
- Abstract
The article highlights the report of MONUC, the United Nations (UN) peackeeping mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), about the forced recruitment of children by rival armed groups in DRC. The children were sent to the front lines of conflict in the North Kivu province. MONUC identified the National Congress for the Defense of the People (CNDP) and the Front Démocratique de Libération du Rwanda (FDLR) as the main groups responsible for the surging child recruitment.
