- Abstract
Somalia and Kenya have signed several agreements to strengthen bilateral relations in various domains, including foreign affairs, security, economy, trade, and social services. This marks a significant step towards cooperation between the two nations and reflects their shared aspirations for progress and mutual benefit. However, tensions between Kenya and Uganda have escalated due to Uganda's decision to raise taxes on Kenyan produce, leading to stranded trucks at the border. This situation is expected to worsen existing trade tensions between the two countries. On a positive note, Kenya will receive $8.1 million from the UK for 50 green projects in 10 counties, focusing on water, healthcare, and energy infrastructure. This funding aims to create jobs, grow local economies, and protect Kenya's biodiversity and landscapes.
