- Abstract
The article discusses various infrastructure projects in African countries. In The Gambia, a 24km access road to the Senegambia Bridge has been commissioned, which will boost trade between Gambians and the rest of Africa. Namibia has received a loan of US$196.43m from the African Development Bank to improve its transport infrastructure, including constructing new rail tracks and modernizing the railway signaling system. South Africa is constructing rural bridges to connect communities and ensure their safety, with technical support from the South African National Defence Force. Transnet Freight Rail in South Africa requires over Rand 50bn investment in the next five years to improve capacity and performance. Lastly, the African Development Bank, Africa Finance Corporation, United States, and European Union have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop the Lobito Corridor and the new Zambia-Lobito rail line, enhancing regional trade and growth.
