- Abstract
Objective: to identify scientific productions on risk assessment strategies for venous thromboembolism, for the application of nurses in the care of cancer patients. Methods: this is a review research, bibliometric, descriptive and with a quantitative approach. Results: 133 publications were found and 34 texts were selected after analysis according to the inclusion criteria. Of the 34 articles that participated in the research, 23 (67.6%) worked with the application of risk assessment scales for venous thromboembolism, where 14 (41.2%) addressed the Khorana score. Conclusion: Although there is scientific production on risk assessment strategies for venous thromboembolism, the diversity of risk prediction models and biomarkers can make it difficult for nurses to choose care for cancer patients.
