- Abstract
The article analyzes indigenous education in Mexico and highlights the need to restore their right to self-determination. It is mentioned that throughout the centuries, promises regarding indigenous education have remained mere rhetoric. The article presents a book that proposes a new indigenous education based on a methodology that combines ancient and modern knowledge. The book seeks to implement learning progressions and address topics related to calcium, nixtamal, milpa, gender, and sustainability in community life. Additionally, it highlights the central role of nature, women, and culture in situated and sustainable learning.
