- Abstract
The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of nitrogen and potassium doses applied via fertigation on green corn. The work was carried out at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceará/Campus Iguatu. The experimental design used was randomized blocks, in a split plot scheme, with four doses of nitrogen (N) in the plots (0, 85, 170 and 340 kg ha-1) and four doses of potassium (K) in the subplots (0, 20, 40 and 80 kg ha-1), corresponding to 0, 50, 100 and 200% of the recommended dose of N and K. At 75 days after planting (DAP), the dry mass of the stem was evaluated (MSC), leaf dry mass (MSF), total dry mass (MST), straw ear mass (MECP) and ear straw mass (MESP). All variables were influenced only by nitrogen doses, with no interaction with potassium doses. The highest dose of N evaluated (340 kg ha-1) was the one that provided the best performance for the crop, being recommended its use for the cultivation of green corn in the study region. In soils rich in potassium, fertilization with this nutrient is not recommended for the cultivation of corn.
