- Title
Impairment of exercise hyperaemia in familial hypercholesterolaemia: complex interplay of vasodilators vs. vasoconstrictors.
- Authors
Tune, Johnathan D.
- Abstract
The article discusses research being done on exercise hyperaemia and endothelin-mediated vasoconstriction. It references the study "Reduced Contribution of Endothelin to the Regulation of Systemic and Pulmonary Vascular Tone in Servere Familial Hypercholesterolaemia," by S. B. Bender et al. in the 2014 issue of "The Journal of Physiology." The reseachers tested the effect of vasoconstriction and high-fat diet on exercise hyperaemia in swine with and without hypercholesterolaemia.
