- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 1.5-month-old male crossbred Holstein and Japanese black calf. The calf was weaned onto starter and oaten hay. The calf developed an aversion to weight-bearing on the right hind limb which revealed presumptive diagnosis of periostitis. The radiographic findings of affected limbs and pathological findings of bone biopsy revealed similar situation as canine panosteitis. The article discusses panosteitis as a self-limiting disease of unknown origin.
