- Abstract
Introduction: The use of vibrating platform has been increasingly used in rehabilitation clinics and gyms weight, in order to tone your muscles, improve flexibility. The importance of knowing the effects of the vibrating platform on muscles can assist health professionals in prescribing and aerobic exercise, especially students who have some kind of pain. Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the acute effects between the responses of lumbar muscle activation in isometric squat at 90 ° developed the vibrating platform and back squat. Materials and Methods: The study included eight women, aged 22.5 ± 2.12 years, practitioners of regular exercise for at least six months. We analyzed the EMG signal of the lumbar muscles in standing position on the ground, in the same position on the vibration platform will 30Hz, provided free squat isometric 90 °, and 90 ° isometric squat on the vibrating platform to 30Hz. For data analysis we used descriptive statistics with mean and standard deviation. Results: No significant difference in the values of root mean square (RMS), where the free squat isometric 90 ° showed an average of 85.8 ± 52.9 RMS (p>0,05), while the squat at 90 ° on the vibration platform for 30 Hz had a mean of 79.8 ± 22.3 RMS (p>0,05). Conclusion: The squat performed on the vibration platform at 90 ° has a tendency to demand less of lumbar muscles, when compared to isometric squat done free, It can thus be recommended for people who have some sort of back pain.
