- Abstract
The discovery of Psorospermium haeckelii sporocysts in a South American parastacid, the Chilean burrowing crayfish, Parastacus pugnax, is reported. These sporocysts were found in the ovarian epithelium of three adult P. pugnax females. The most important morphological characteristics of the sporocysts are described and illustrated, and their morphological similarity with those found in Australian parastacids is analysed.
