- Abstract
The advent of the web reconfigures the meaning that McLuhan attributed to Mass-Age, in works such as O Meio é as Massagens (Record, 1969) or Guerra e Paz na Aldeia Global (Record, 1971). While for one group the network is a stage for games, for others it can be a curtain that keeps intimate secrets and, for others, it can be a large classroom with possible ideas or points of view that shape the profile of one another storyteller. Thus, we perceive a dialectic for the new narrator, a dialectic to be directed by the positioning of the point of view drawn from the political use of his electronic eye in his reach on the network, the falcon's flight through online narrativities, real time flight, glocal. A dialectic that opens up in a semiotic square to tension two opposing points – the interest of the State versus the corporate interest – aligning or opposing one or two of these poles to one or another user profile on behalf of oneself or on behalf of others. Drawing a parallel with Walter Benjamin on the way to embracing the diversity of narrators on the network today, through Canclini's idea of hybrid we move towards the construction of a concept of narrator that manages, albeit in a symbolic or phenomenal way, to account for all the change that brings the electronic, a change in the relationship of the audience of the analogical century with the social conscience of the popular that today accesses and actively participates in the communicative process with all its nuances.
